DesignBUILD Theatre

Project type: Pop-up theatre

Group Project (2 people): My role was SketchUp, both of us were involved in design

Presentation skills utilised: SketchUp, Photoshop

When completed: 3rd Year, Term 1

A pop-up theatre entered in the UNSW 3rd Year competition for DesignBUILD’s networking event for architecture, design and building industries with the brief of ‘setting the new standard’ that had to be constructed in a 24 hour period. The design addresses the brief through visual transitions in colour and form, created through a series of hanging curtains of varying lengths to create a perceived difference in ceiling height. On each panel are printed the words of DesignBUILD’s four pillars of ‘sustainability’, ‘compliance’, ‘innovation’ and ‘collaboration’ at increased spacing intervals and with increasingly lighter shades of yellow to create a gradient effect and emphasise the staggered form.
