Technology is an increasingly important, yet often overwhelming, tool in peoples’ lives. Despite the potential to improve lives, technology can have adverse effects on health and relationships.

The redevelopment of White Bay Power Station provides a unique opportunity to create a space that encourages people of all ages and abilities to reconnect with the world around them, at the same time paying homage to the history of the site. The design provides a stimulating, sensory experience within an arts centre, encouraging people to put down their phones, reconnect and physically engage with each other. It prompts the growth of existing and new relationships by providing opportunities for visitors to connect with others through shared interests, physical activities, interactions and experiences.

Please see the included video presentation containing a fly through of the design.
