Zero Waste Restaurant Chain
’Biocycle’

Project type: Hospitality

Individual Project

Presentation skills utilised: SketchUp, Photoshop

When completed: 2nd Year, Semester 1

A flexible design for a chain of zero-waste restaurants which address the issue through on-site composting. The design includes a worm farm in the shape of a worm situated within a glass chair which enables a large quantity of the restaurant’s food waste to be composted on site, whilst also acting as a feature point of the space to raise customer awareness about the benefits of composting. A chicken coup is incorporated in the design. The chickens utilise other food scraps and the resulting fertiliser from the worm farm is used on the on-site vegetable garden.
